About The Event
In the harsh, painful and often unforgiving world of crime and criminal justice, Restorative Justice is an extraordinary example of kindness in action. Inspired by indigenous practices across the world, it offers victims of crime the opportunity to meet or communicate with the offender to discuss the impact of the crime. This often brings a sense of closure and understanding, as well as scientifically proven benefits such as a reduced risk of PTSD and a 14% reduction in reoffending.
Nigel Whiskin MBE is a former probation officer and co-founder of Restorative Solutions, a leading organisation in the field. This is a rare and special opportunity to meet one of the pioneers of Restorative Justice in the UK, who will share his reflections followed by a Q&A.
Tea and cake will be available on a donation basis.
