About The Event
Shôn Dale-Jones created The Duke as a direct response to the refugee crisis, feeling compelled to take practical action to support displaced people, particularly children left helpless, homeless, and often parentless due to the circumstances they were born into.
Alongside Me & Robin Hood, The Duke has raised over £100,000 for charities supporting child refugees and street-connected children.
The Duke has received twenty 4- and 5-star reviews.
The Duke won The Scotsman Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2016:
"Shôn Dale-Jones emerges from his Hugh Hughes alter-ego with a show at the Pleasance that combines three stories – about his mother, a film script, and the refugee crisis – into one thoughtful, quietly powerful whole."— The Scotsman
