Frome grief network
The Frome Grief Network is a community of local people and organisations supporting those dealing with grief and loss in the Frome area. Our goal is to share resources, raise awareness, and improve support for individuals experiencing grief, while also enabling support for those working in this field.
The Frome Grief Network is a Good Heart initiative and has been set up by Mel Dalton and Neil Croom, who run a free, monthly Dying Matters group at The Good Heart. Mel is a Trainee Art Psychotherapist and employee of The Good Heart. Neil works locally as a Coach and has many years of experience as a former Mental Health Nurse.
Our aims are to:

Map existing services and update Frome’s Family Information Network Directory (FIND) with local services related to supporting people with grief and loss.

Develop resources for the Frome Medical Practice Health Connectors and local funeral directors to use for signposting.

Engage with the local community, including a launch event at the Frome Kindness Festival in March 2025.

Provide awareness training and support to other organisations in Frome.

Identify gaps in local grief support services.

Foster peer-to-peer support for professionals in this field.
