The Good Heart, 7 Palmer Street, Frome BA11 1DS
Volunteer Coordinator Job Pack, November 2024
BACKGROUND
We are looking for someone to join The Good Heart team on a short-term self-employed basis to manage and develop our volunteer team. Over the past three years The Good Heart has had considerable success in recruiting a team of ‘Kindness Crew’ volunteers for the annual Frome Kindness Festival. We are now looking to enlarge the team, to embed good practice, and to create opportunities for volunteers to support other Frome non-profits once the Festival is over.
The work will be spread over 5 months, from December 2024 to April 2025, with particular intensity during the 4th Frome Kindness Festival 15 – 22 March 2025. The actual hours of work can be flexible but will definitely involve some evening and weekend activities.
The rate of pay is £15 per hour, invoiced at the end of each month. We have already secured funding for the Kindness Festival aspect of the job (100 hours – see No. 2 below) and are waiting to hear whether we have funding for an additional 50 hours to develop the Community Table volunteer team for The Good Heart (see No.3 below). We are keen for the successful candidate to manage both projects simultaneously.
The Good Heart is a community interest company set up to celebrate, practice and explore the difference that kindness can make in our lives. For more information about The Good Heart and the Frome Kindness Festival see www.thegoodheart.uk
